Woman Sentenced To Probation Only For Killing Retired Cop Gets Arrested Again

Prosecutors said that 23-year-old Callie Inman was arrested on drug charges in violation of her probation agreement.

Galveston, TX – A woman convicted of killing a retired Houston police officer in 2014 has been arrested for drug possession in Galveston.

Callie Inman was driving under the influence when she pulled out of a convenience store parking lot in front of a motorcycle in 2014, KHOU reported.

The crash left retired Houston Police Officer Dana Tweedie dead, and badly injured his wife Linda, who was also a Houston police officer.

Inman, now 23, was charged with intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault in February of 2014, The Daily News reported.

Court records showed that prosecutors let her plead to criminally negligent homicide – a lesser charge – and as a result, Inman avoided jail time and was sentenced to only five years’ probation.

Inman was prohibited from using any illegal drugs or committing additional crimes under the terms of her agreement, The Daily News reported.

In February, Inman was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of dangerous drugs and possession of a controlled substance in Liberty County.

Court records also showed she had failed a drug test in January, The Daily News reported.

Galveston County prosecutors, in an April court filing, accused Inman of violating the terms of her 2015 probation agreement.

She was arrested and appeared before a magistrate on May 24 and is scheduled for a hearing on Tuesday, The Daily News reported.

Inman, who was 18 when she crashed into the Tweedies’ motorcycle, was arrested on a misdemeanor drug charge shortly after the wreck, before she made her plea agreement with prosecutors, according to the Houston Chronicle.

She was out on a $150,000 bond for killing the retired police officer and critically injuring his police officer wife when she was caught with drug paraphernalia and an empty bag that had contained marijuana.

Dana Tweedie retired from the Houston PD in 2008, the Houston Chronicle reported.

Houston Senior Police Officer Linda Tweedie was a 27-year veteran of the department when she was permanently disabled by the intoxicated teenage driver.
