Man Crashes Into Garage After Taking Five Viagra-Type Erectile Dysfunction Pills

Seattle, Washington – A 59-year-old man crashed into a Seattle parking garage and told police he had taken five generic Viagra-type erectile dysfunction medication pills, about five times the recommended dosage. He was arrested for driving under the influence.

A witness called police at 10 PM Sunday to report that a car had hit the side of a parking garage. The witness said the man drove over a median, into a wall, and then into a garage door, according to KIRO-7 news site.

Witnesses told police the man struck the wall three or four times and then walked out of the car and stumbled, the TV station reported. The man fell down and hit his head and got back into his vehicle and hit the garage door.

When police arrived they found the man standing in front of the garage. Police asked if he was driving a car and the man was vague, but a witness and the man’s son identified him as the driver.

The man said he had taken some prescription drugs but said the label didn’t warn him about driving. Police didn’t smell alcohol and the man’s son also told police he hadn’t seen his father drinking, KIRO 7 reported.

The fire department arrived on scene and told police the suspect would be going to the hospital because he was “not acting right,” the TV station reported.

When taken to the hospital, the man told police he had taken erectile dysfunction medication. The man told officers he took five pills when the bottle said to only take one, according to the police report.

Police are waiting for blood test results to determine if drugs or alcohol were in the man’s system.

The man was booked into the King County Jail. He pleaded not guilty during his arraignment for DUI.
