Three Seattle Police Officers Shot By With Three Robbers, One Escaped, Manhunt Underway
Three Seattle Police Officers Shot
Seattle, WA – Three Seattle Police Department officers have been shot after confronting three robbery suspects.
Officers were responding to a robbery call in the 600 block of 1st Ave at around 1:25 PM. The officers located the suspects a block away and the officers got into a fight with those suspects. While one officer was fighting on the ground with the suspect, a female suspect bashed the officer over the head with a glass bottle. A third suspect then opened fire on the officers, shooting them all.
After the officers were shot, one of the suspects fled into a nearby building where he barricaded himself. After a brief standoff, officers were able to take the suspect into custody. At this time one male and one female suspect are in custody with one at large.
Two officers sustained direct hits from the suspects’ shots. One female officer was shot in the chest and her vest was able to stop the bullet, she is in satisfactory condition. One male officer was shot in his chin and ribcage and is in critical condition. They were transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.
Another male officer was shot in the hand, and is believed to have only suffered a grazing wound.
The area is on lockdown and people are being asked to shelter in place during the manhunt for the third suspect.
The escaped suspect was described as a dark complexioned black male 5’11”, 250 pounds, and Seahawks beanie, glasses, and black jacket.
