Portland, OR – Rioters rampaged through the Multnomah County Justice Center before setting it on fire late Friday night.
The Justice Center houses a county jail and police headquarters.
The large group of rioters marched right up to the justice center, before breaking in, with no officers in their way.
The police had been trailing a far distance behind the group, giving them a large lead. Officers didn’t declare an unlawful assembly until the building was breached.
Portland Police responded with tear gas, pepper balls, and stun grenades, according to The Oregonian.
Rioters could be seen on video from Sergio Olmos throwing projectiles at officers and shining lasers in their eyes.
After the rioters were chased away from the Justice Center, they started looting the nearby Pioneer Place Mall and destroying businesses.
It appears that the fire has been put out.
Portland has a large antifa presence known for rioting and violent attacks on police, journalists, and citizens at any opportunity.
Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler attempted to appeal to the rioters on Twitter.
“Portland, this is not us,” he wrote. “When you destroy our city, you are destroying our community. When you act in violence against each other, you are hurting all of us. How does this honor the legacy of George Floyd?”
When the rioting didn’t stop, the mayor ominously warned “you will be hearing from me.”
