REPORT: VSP Helicopter Crash In Charlottesville

Charlottesville, VA – Reports are pouring in of a helicopter crash in Charlottesville, and preliminary information is that it was a Virginia State Police helicopter.

Dean Seal with Daily Progress reported that officers are guarding the scene of the crash and he was told that the helicopter belonged to Virginia State Police.

Virginia Professional Firefighters president Robert Bragg reported that the helicopter was fully involved (on fire.)

Video posted from nearby shows a lot of thick black smoke rising up above the trees.
