Maine Democrats Say White Male Suicide Is A ‘Good Thing’
A video was released on Friday that shows Maine Democrats at a meeting laughing about white male suicide (below.)
According to The Washington Times, the event was a “Values and Vision” community meeting, hosted by the Maine Democratic Party.
The comments were made by former state senatorial candidate Richard Fochtmann. He said “what we need in Maine is we need younger people — take a look. It looks almost like a lecture for Social Security. Okay, so that’s one thing. We need to encourage as many young people. We also need more women. Today I saw a thing that said a lot of men, white men are committing suicide. I almost thought yeah, great. Then I thought about it little more and I thought maybe I shouldn’t say that out in public.”
Ya think? Although Fochtmann told local media that he remarks in jest, it’s not funny to joke about it being a good thing that people are killing themselves. Maine democrats, however, disagree. The cell phone video of the meeting showed many attendees laughing at Fochtmann’s comments.
Fochtmann explained his “joke” stating, “I thought the point of the joke is that it won’t be long, and that this won’t be a majority white nation, and I think that’s a good thing.”
Not only is this “joke” still not funny, but I’m sure white supremacists are going to love using his statement in their propaganda. Way to go, empowering the nutjobs.
Fochtmann further expressed disgust at the “lack of morality” of people his age.
Fochtmann continued in the video and said that there’s no big protest going on about (President) Trump. He also said “I hear a lot of people out there espousing things about being good Christians, being patriots and what not. We just read different history books. Different Bible, everything.”
The Maine Democratic Party refused to comment.
There is enough racism and hate in this world without politicians fueling it. With his statements, I’m glad he lost his last election, and perhaps the Maine Democratic Party should be separating themselves from him.
