Good Samaritans Bust Down Door To Save 13-Year-Old Girl From Rapist

Herman Gutierrez Fuentes was half-naked and cowering in a corner when three witnesses burst in.

Phoenix, AZ – Three witnesses busted down an accused attempted rapist’s door to save a 13-year-old girl from being sexually assaulted on Sunday afternoon.

The altercation occurred at a residence near McDowell Road and 63rd Avenue, after three other people inside the home learned that 19-year-old Herman Gutierrez Fuentes had taken the heavily intoxicated girl into his room, The Arizona Republic reported.

Gutierrez Fuentes allegedly plied the girl with alcohol, and she was later found to have a blood-alcohol content of .189, according to KNXV.

The trio of Good Samaritans said they kicked down Gutierrez Fuentes’ bedroom door, and spotted the unresponsive teen lying with her pants and her underwear removed, The Arizona Republic reported.

The attempted rapist was naked from the waist down, cowering in a corner.

“I messed up,” he allegedly told one of the witnesses, just before the witness threw him against a wall.

Gutierrez Fuentes said that he realized that the situation “looked bad,” according to The Arizona Republic.

The two other witnesses tended to the young girl as police responded to the scene.

She was taken to a local hospital, where she underwent an examination and participated in a forensic interview.

The teen told police that the last thing she remembered before waking up at the hospital was drinking with Gutierrez Fuentes in the living room at the home, according to court documents.

Police said that he supplied his victim with enough alcohol to make her vomit, then led her to a bedroom.

He then allegedly began kissing her and removed her clothing, and said he was aware she was heavily intoxicated, according to police.

The witnesses intervened prior to him raping the young girl.

Gutierrez Fuentes is being held on $100,000 bond for charges of sexual assault and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, KNXV reported.

His next court appearance is scheduled for June 6, according to KSAZ.
