Indianapolis Colts David Parry Arrested

Scottsdale, AZ – Defensive lineman David Parry, of the Indianapolis Colts, is being widely criticized for a weekend arrest in Arizona where he threatened arresting officers and used gay and racial slurs.  Parry was charged with auto theft, robbery, resisting arrest, driving under the influence and criminal damage.

Just after 2:30 AM, officers responded a 911 call of a theft and possible assault at the Casa Granada Apartments in the 6900 block of Osborn Road in Scottsdale.  When officers arrived, they found the driver of a golf cart who said he had been transporting people to and from a local bar to the complex.

The driver said when he got off of the golf cart to collect a fare, David Parry punched him in the back left side of his head.  According to the driver Parry then tried to strike other passengers who were accompanying him before he jumped on the golf cart and drove away.

When officers located David Parry, they found him about 50 feet from where the golf cart was crashed in to a locked gate. Parry was intoxicated and smelled heavily of alcohol.  Parry told officers he had been drinking  “a lot” and “more than I should have been.”  As officers attempted to detain him he became belligerent and said he was “not wiling to cooperate with anybody here.”

David Parry continued to tell officers, “I’m coming after all of you,” and “I love it, I love it.”

According to ESPN started using gay slurs and referred to the officers as “fat f–s.”  After his arrest on suspicion of intoxication and his involvement in the crimes, his blood was drawn to determine his blood alcohol content. He was not given a breathalyzer test because he was nauseated and not stable enough, The Indianapolis Star reported. The results could take up to 30 days.

The new Colts GM Chris Ballard made a statement after the arrest.  “We haven’t gotten all the information yet, and I don’t want to comment on that until we get all the details and all the facts,” he said. “We visited, and I would like to keep that private with me and David.”

Parry was a fifth-round pick in 2015 for the Colts and is currently under a $615,000 contract for next season.
