One Dead In Charlottesville After Suspected Terrorist Attack

Charlottesvile, VA – One person has been confirmed to have been murdered and nineteen others have been injured in a suspected terrorist attack Saturday afternoon, according to the Associated Press.

The suspect in the attack has been arrested, but no information about that suspect or his motivations have been released at this time.

President Trump on Saturday addressed the violence in Charlottesville, condemning the violence from both the white nationalists and counter-protesters.

“We have to respect each other. Ideally, we have to love each other,” President Trump said, “What is vital now is a swift restoration of law and order and the protection of innocent lives.”

The attack occurred when a vehicle drove through a crowd of Antifa during a victory march through the streets on 1:50 PM on Saturday. Video of the incident was captured (video below.)

After law enforcement issued a dispersal order and the Governor declared a State of Emergency over rioting at the Unite The Right white nationalist rally, Antifa took to the streets to celebrate.

The Antifa crowd marched around, blocking the streets without a permit, while chanting “Whose streets? Our streets.”

American Antifa groups themselves have committed domestic terrorist attacks, advocating for and committing acts of violence against people who have different political views. Despite a long history of throwing explosives at others and beating people over the head, there are no known American deaths from Antifa attacks.

As they were marching, a car accelerated through them, plowing into large numbers of people, and ramming the back of another car. The vehicle then backed out and fled.

The roadway was a slow city roadway, and it would be unreasonable to assume that the attack was anything other than an intentional attack using a common terrorist tactic.

None of the people in the Antifa crowd were engaging in any violence at the time of the attack.

After plowing through the crowd, the vehicle then reserved through the crowd to escape.

Police later located the vehicle and driver and took him into custody.
