BLUE ALERT: William Chase Johnson Wanted For Murder Of Sheriff

18-year-old William Chase Johnson is wanted for the murder of Lonwdes County Sheriff John Williams.

Lowndes County, AL – A Blue Alert has been issued after the murder of Lowndes County Sheriff John Williams Saturday night.

UPDATE: The suspect surrendered to authorities early Sunday morning.

The sheriff was was on a call just after 8 p.m. at a QV convenience store, according to AL.com.

The details of the call have not been released, but during the call, the sheriff was fatally shot by 18-year-old William Chase Johnson, according to authorities.

The suspect stole the sheriff’s patrol car after the shooting. The vehicle has since been recovered abandoned.

The killer remains on the run as of publication time.

Johnson is described as a white male, 5-foot 9-inches, 137 pounds. Anybody who sees him should call 911 immediately.

He is believed to be on foot.

Authorities are asking for people to help spread the word to help locate Johnson.
