Woman Dragged Off Delta Flight By Airport Police

Detroit, MI.–According to Delta, an unruly flight passenger had to be forcibly removed from a flight on Monday morning departing from Detroit Wayne County Airport and headed for San Francisco.

We’ve all been there.  Waiting (sort of) patiently in line to board our next flight.  This airline passenger took protocol with a grain of salt and decided to board when and how she wanted.  It was a decision that developed in to a viral video of her being carried by her hands and feet off of the flight and losing not only her overhead bin space, but her seat to California as well.

The whole ordeal was captured by Rene deLambert, a fellow passenger on Delta flight 2038.  The flight was scheduled to depart Detroit around 8a.m. and arrive in San Diego later in the day.  The woman in the video allegedly blew past boarding security and according to other passengers was “mouthy and had a huge attitude.”  She was believed to have “blew past the gate agent and didn’t check in because she wasn’t an early boarder and deserved overhead bin space.”  The woman will face criminal charges as a result of her unruly behavior, all in the name of not having to hold her bag with her ankles like the rest of us.

Delta requested assistance with the woman “who would not comply with boarding and baggage check procedures” at the gate, according to Brian Lassaline, an airport spokesman.  Delta airlines told responding law enforcement that “the woman could not remain on board.”  The Detroit Metropolitan Airport also released a statement saying, “At approximately 8 this morning, Delta Air Lines contacted Detroit Metropolitan Airport’s police department requesting assistance with a passenger who would not comply with boarding and baggage check procedures at a MacNamara Terminal gate.  When officers arrived, Delta Air Lines stated the woman could not remain on board.  Despite repeated requests by officers, the woman refused to leave the aircraft and had to be removed.  She was arrested and charges are pending,”
