Suspects Attempt To Rob Top Nails Salon, Get Shot Instead

Douglasville, GA –   Two suspects entered the Top Nails Salon on Thornton Road around 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, and attempted to rob the business.  One suspect possessed a handgun.  An employee of the nail salon fired at the suspect and gunfire was exchanged between the business employee and the suspect.  One suspect was injured and one suspect fled.

According to news sources, Officers from the Douglasville Police Department responded to the call of an armed robbery which turned into a shooting at the business.  When the suspects attempted to rob the business, an employee pulled out a handgun and shot him in the buttocks.  The suspect  who had been shot fled into nearby woods.  He was located a short time later by K9’s and Officers.  He was taken into custody and  was taken to a local hospital  in Atlanta with non-life threatening injuries.

Douglasville Police Officers are working with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in searching for the second suspect.  It is unknown if he  was injured.  No one at the business was injured and the suspect’s handgun was recovered at the scene.  The names of the suspects or of the business employee who shot the suspect has been released.

Do you think business employees should be able to defend themselves if suspects try to rob them?
