I live in Galveston County, Texas…I was arrested August 2012 in Galveston and charged with family violence w/injury…My girlfriend is epileptic and had a seizure…Galveston Court would not even look at her medical records from University Texas Medical Branch..No assault occurred. uppn going before the Judge, the charge was dropped to disorderly conduct, ststing it was illegal to totally dismiss a charge…I had 15 years working as a Deputy Sheriff & Deputy Marshall..I wad injured in a domestic disturbance in April 1997..
The court sent in my case as a felony and blocked me from purchasing a weapon…I’ve carried a weapon for most of my life & qualified regularly with the Agencies i worked with..Unable to work and after numerous surgeries..I can only thank God for being alive..Two attourneys want to help me get my name cleared…for $1000.00. I live on a fixed income(disability) and that expense simply is not in my small budget..I still carry a weapon withput a concealed license.. I’d much rather be legal but was told i cannot obtain a license with this false disposition over my head..Can you advise ?
