Antonio Taylor ambushed a Ballwin Officer on a traffic stop

Ballwin, MO – A Missouri police officer was ambushed while on a traffic stop. The officer is currently in critical condition and fighting for his life.

Late Friday morning the unidentified officer conducted a traffic stop on Antonio Taylor, 31. The officer had just finished issuing Taylor a speeding ticket, and was walking back to his patrol car when Taylor exited his vehicle and shot the officer in the back and the neck.

Citizens found the officer and started providing first aid and performing CPR. That officer is now fighting for his life in a hospital.

Antonio Taylor was later located an apprehended after a short foot pursuit. They recovered a firearm believed to have been used in the shooting.

The incident was captured on the officer’s dash cam, but the video has not been released.

This appears to be a calculated attack against law enforcement. Antonio Taylor had already received a speeding ticket and the stop had ended when he ambushed the police officer. We speculate that Taylor had been speeding specifically to lure the officer into an ambush. Taylor is no stranger to law enforcement, with an extensive criminal history.

Fox2Now reports:

Taylor spent less than four years in prison between the trails of crimes he wove. Fox 2 News uncovered all of it in state and federal court records.

Taylor pleaded guilty in 2006 to second-degree robbery, unauthorized use of a vehicle, and eluding/attempting to elude a police officer. It was in Oklahoma, but his home address at the time was in The Grove area of St. Louis.

Three years later, he admitted to felony unlawful possession of a firearm, but he got a pass on his six-year prison sentence. The judge gave him a suspended execution of sentence and gave him probation.

In 2010, Taylor was a suspect in a carjacking. Police said they found him in the stolen car with a gun, but the witness could not identify him. Again, he pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm, served 30 months federal prison time, and then skipped out on his probation.

Taylor continued to stack more reported problems, according to federal court records, including a domestic assault incident, when his girlfriend said he beat her for, “refusing to have sex with Taylor.”

Taylor remained on the run until police in California caught him with an illegal firearm in 2013. He admitted it again and went to prison for another 15 months before getting out in March 2015.

There is no rational motive for this assassination attempt. Taylor’s motivation was clearly just to kill a random law enforcement officer. Coming just one day after 11 Dallas police officers were shot by the Black Lives Matter Terrorists, it’s likely that Taylor shared the same ideals.

It’s time for the news media, celebrities, and politicians to wake up and realize that by spreading the nonsense of Black Lives Matter, they are inciting the violence against police officers. Let your voice be heard and tell the world that attacks on law enforcement will not be accepted.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured officer. We will update you on his condition when we know more.
