Officer Down: Hero Michael Scott Williams Killed In Crash
Perry, Florida – An officer was killed on Monday in a collision south of Perry, Fla.
Florida Highway Patrol confirms that a Taylor County Sheriff’s Deputy was killed in a vehicle collision Monday morning. The deputy has been identified as 46 year old Michael Scott Williams.
He was killed at around 6:50 am after rear ending a logging truck at the intersection of US 98/ US 19. Deputy Williams was on his way to work this morning. Michael Upshaw, 54, was driving the truck and was not injured in the collision.
The collision is still being investigated. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Taylor County Sheriff’s Department and Deputy Williams’ family.
Deputy Williams is the 6th American law enforcement officer who has died in the line of duty within the past couple of days.
