Man Crashes into Marijuana Dispensary While High

Alan Alcantara crashed into marijuana dispensary while high
Happy Valley, OR – An 18-year-old man was high on marijuana when he crashed into a marijuana dispensary. Law enforcement officers who work in areas where marijuana dispensaries are legal are aware that many customers will light up in their cars after making a purchase. However, this man wasn’t apparently a customer, as the shop was closed at the time of the collision.
Oregon Live reports:
An 18-year-old man was arrested early Sunday on suspicion of driving while high on marijuana after he crashed into a marijuana dispensary in Happy Valley.
Alan Alcantara hit an empty parked car near Stumptown Cannabis on Southeast 82nd Avenue around 1:05 a.m. and then crashed into the back wall of the business, according to a probable cause affidavit. He caused more than $1,000 in damages to the other car and the building, court papers said.
Alcantara’s passenger was taken to a hospital with a concussion, and Alcantara admitted to a Clackamas County sheriff’s deputy to using marijuana before the crash, the affidavit said. He was booked into the Clackamas County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving, reckless endangering, criminal mischief and fourth-degree assault.
A worker at Stumptown Cannabis said Tuesday that the business was closed at the time of the crash and that boards have been put up on the wall that was hit.
Marijuana legalization is gaining momentum throughout the country, with proponents saying that marijuana is no more harmful than alcohol. This ignores the fact that alcohol itself is extremely harmful.
What’s most alarming about legalization, is that heavy marijuana users almost all seem to be convinced that marijuana doesn’t impair them. Heavy marijuana users are less impaired by marijuana than occasional users, much in the way that alcoholics are not as impaired by alcohol. Due to the fact that the heavy marijuana users can make it through every day while high, they become convinced that they aren’t impaired.

When weed was illegal I smoked whenever and where ever I felt like INCLUDING while driving. Why? Because society wasn’t concerned enough about my individual freedom to allow me to consume marijuana in a “safe” way, while at home. Now that marijuana is legal and society has more respect for ME, I return that respect by NOT smoking while driving…

Do you know how immature you sound? Every time you smoked and drove, you imperiled others with your stupidity. That you never caused an accident is just pure dumb luck.
Ana
What kind of nonsense is that, mature please.

Something is illegal but because I dont think it should be in going to do it anyway. While I’m at it I’m going to risk the lives of everyone else on the road because I’m a fucking idiot,
