Nashville, TN – Kathleen Daly faced a Grand Jury on Wednesday for her role in the ambush shooting of Officer Terrance McBride.

Metro Nashville Police Officers knocked on the door to a room at the Cumberland Inn early December 13th.  Confidential information had been received that a suspect who had outstanding warrants was inside the room.  Additional information was also received that there was drug activity inside the room and that a robbery was being planned.  When Metro Nashville Police Officers knocked on the door, Kathleen Daly answered and led officers into an ambush.

Evidence of drug activity was in plain view and the officers made entry and began searching the room. When Metro Nashville Police Officers opened the bathroom door, the suspect, who had been hiding in the bathroom, opened fire with a shotgun, striking Metro Nashville Police Officer Terrance McBride. Officers returned fire and escaped.

There was a long standoff, before law enforcement re-entered the room and found the suspect dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Kathleen Daly was arrested for leading officers into the ambush.
