Congressional Candidate to Cops, “I’ll shoot you dead”
A congressional candidate from Georgia named Mike Crane has put law enforcement on notice; if police try to serve a lawfully issued search warrant at his residence, “You come to my house, kick down my door, and if I have an opportunity, I will shoot you dead.” Crane didn’t stop there; he urged the crowd to also shoot at law enforcement officers who enter their homes. Crane is currently a member of the Georgia State Senate and he is running for US Congress.
You may think that his speech could have been taken out of context, but that’s not the case. Crane has been interviewed repeatedly and had the opportunity to clarify his statements. Each time, Crane has made it clear that he’s not merely suggesting that he might mistake a law enforcement officer for an intruder.
Fox 5 Atlanta reports:
Crane made it clear he feels no-knock warrants are illegal in Georgia and an infringement of citizen’s rights.
He repeated what he said earlier about police conducting a raid at his house: “If somebody kicks down my door unannounced they will meet with resistance, I guarantee you.”
Randy Robertson, VP of Georgia FOP, said he was angry and afraid when he saw the campaign video. He posted it along with his commentary on Georgia Fraternal Order of Police Facebook page.
Robertson, and other police and legal experts we interviewed all said no-knock warrants are legal in Georgia, and they are often issued if police officer’s lives would be in danger during a search.
Robertson says Mike Crane’s shoot to kill campaign speech is dangerous inflammatory.
“He has put the men and women who wear the badge and do the job into danger,’ says Robertson.
Even during no-knock warrants, law enforcement officers still clearly announce themselves to the occupants of any building they search. From Crane’s comments, it appears that he has an issue with all search warrants where police have to force entry. I suppose that we should all just knock on doors and then mill about while we wait for the occupants to answer; it’s not like they could be destroying evidence or arming themselves. We would expect this kind of irresponsible speech out of Black Lives Matter, not a prospective US Congressman.
If America elects an anti-law enforcement president, it looks like Mike Crane will fit right in with her.

If I was a State Senator (or the law abiding citizen that I am) and someone came bursting into my house – they’d be dead.
Maybe law enforcement ought to “check their privilege” and establish a way better track record of not allowing themselves to be used as thugs to infringe on the rights of citizens. Do you get it? I AM a law abiding citizen. And you guys make too many mistakes. Please don’t come to my house heavy.

I’m with Crane and I’ll tell you why… These days, home invading thugs are acting like cops serving a warrant when they break into occupied homes. If anyone kicks my door in and enters screaming anything, I’m stopping the threat first. Entering my house in that fashion will impart an immediate fear in me that whoever is entering means to do me harm. I am entitled to the exact same justification cops have used when shooting an innocent civilian when they kick in the door at the wrong address.
When I read about warrants being served at the wrong address, that is inexcusable. That careless error can AND HAS resulted in the death of innocent citizens (plural).
If the cops do NOT care enough to verify the correct address when serving no-knock warrants, then they have no standing to be the least bit surprised when one or more of them ends up on the coroners table. When cops play stupid games, they *should* win stupid prizes. They may ultimately put me down, but I will do my best to make it a HIGHLY expensive error on their part in loss of life and grievous bodily harm . And to be clear, the only time this would happen would be due to a mistake on the LEOs part.
We need more Andy Griffiths instead of the standard issue Barney Fifes that appear to comprise the majority of LEOs these days.

No knock warrants fall under the 4th amendments guaranteed against “UNREASONABLE SEARCH AND SEIZURE”!! We now have judges that have been issuing SEALED WARRANTS and the victim has no clue as to what he’s charged with or who his accusers are! I agree with Mike Crane!! No knock warrants, SWAT raids, etc. are all UNCONSTITUTIONAL!!

I was wondering, just how many times a week, month, year, do police actually break down your doors or your neighbors doors looking for the perp and supprizing the hell out of your dog so you have time to pull your gun out of lock-up while those mean old cops are busting down your door?
