Breaking: U.S. Deputy Marshal Murdered In Georgia

Long County, Georgia – A U.S. Deputy Marshall was shot and killed while arresting someone in Long County.

A U.S. Marshall based out of Macon, Georgia was shot and killed earlier today while attempting to arrest a suspect. Monroe County Sheriff John Bittick was on scene and told local news outlets that the Marshal was wearing a protective vest, but “Those vests are not going to stop a rifle round,” The Telegraph reports.

Local news station WJCL is reporting that the U.S. Deputy Marshal was wounded in the Spring Creek Mobile Home Park.

The suspect is in custody.
